Codetrain hosted the Accra Apps Demo Day on 26th April 2019. The event had young brilliant people in the city of Accra showcase apps that they have built to address some of the most pressing problems in Accra. It was a great way for people to network and discover amazing tech talent at Codetrain.
Several representatives from companies, such as Expresspay, Boomplay, Avance Media, TXT Ghana, Mpharma and Jumeni attended the Accra Apps Demo Day. Dr. Michael Blank, a delegate from the German Business Delegation (AHK), and Mr. Fred Abban, Director of IT for Youth Employment Agency (YEA), were special guests of honor in attendance. Friends and partners from the Kosmos Innovation Center, Leti Arts, Meqasa and MEST graced the occasion as well.
Zadok Armah, a web developer in training, demoed his Chore Connect app. the App gave users the options of uploading chores for other users to select and do them at a fee. Gerard Nweje, also demoed his learning mobile app designed for kids to learn about their surroundings. Other apps, such as a video streaming app, clothes inventory app, and a meal planner app, awed audience in attendance
This event is organized by Codetrain, a special school that is making the dreams of young people in Accra come true by teaching them to become app developers and then helping them to work on their own project ideas.
