Through the month of November, Codetrain hosted the AHK Innovation Challenge. The challenge was aimed at giving Ghanaian young ladies the chance to build fully-functional software products from the ground up.
In the first week, the ladies learnt about how to write requirements and the thought process involved in building software products. We also had our very first pizza day and photo session. There was so much excitement in the air. Every day was an adventure to look forward to.
Each week, we had the opportunity to show our work to the clients that we were building for. The weekly rounds of feedback helped to guide us into building the most effective solution.
Stakeholders from Volkswagen Ghana, SKT Aeroshutter and AHK Ghana kept giving their input. And we kept on implementing feature after feature in a keen race to the deadline.
Thankfully, by the time the 4-week period rolled by, all our solutions were ready to ship.
We then attended a pitch event at the AHK office in Accra to present our software products.
This opportunity has been a blast and we can’t believe it’s over already.
