Codetrain Mentees Win Ghana’s Best Female Group in Tech Award

Students of Ghana Lebanon Islamic School (GLIS) won Ghana’s Best Female Group in tech award at the recently held Techbooth Challenge. After learning how to create websites at Codetrain, the group, Girl Power, created a website as a platform to help adolescent females get access to safe and professional advice and help concerning female hygiene and sex education. They also created a menstrual care package to fund their tech projects.

The student received their prize at a presentation held at the Stanbic Bank Incubator. They received a citation and 1000 cedis cash as a prize. The CEO, of Codetrain, Richard Brandt, was in attendance to present their prize to the group. The Techbooth Challenge in Ghana is part of the Students for the Advancement of Global Entrenuership (SAGE) Ghana National Competition. The competition was held in late July this year.
